Captain's Reports

Mens First Team ....Firstly a big thanks to all participants that contributed towards the 1st Teams promotion to Division 3. After a perfect start to the season we had a few hiccups in the middle but finished strongly. We were unfortunately just piped at the post, as on equal points, but lost on the number of sets to Penketh. Rob

Men's Second Team ....It was an interesting season for the Mens 2nd team in Div 5 with a number of close matches where the sides were evenly matched and the result could have gone either way. In the end, the team won 3, drew 1 and lost 12 matches finishing bottom of the league table. The highlight was probably the final match away against the team at the top of the league when all players performed well to record a 6.5-5.5 win. One factor probably influencing results was the need to play many different pairs (18 in fact) during the season due to player non-availability for different reasons. We will try to address this issue next season. Thanks to all who played so enthusiastically for the team. Keith

Social Tennis

Social tennis will take place on Saturdays from 2pm and Mondays from 6pm except April 26th, May 17th, June 21st, July 5th when due to men's matches, social tennis moves to the Wednesday of those weeks.

Junior Saturday morning tennis starts on 10th April.

A Warm Welcome to All

Ladies Coaching on Wednesdays

On Wed 5th May we have a home knock out match, which means Ladies Coaching will move to Friday 7th May. Also Ladies Coaching will move to Friday on the weeks when social tennis is on a Wednesday.

Social Events

We have a ballot for Wimbledon Tickets - all British Tennis members who pay subs by May 1st are eligible.

The Tennis Club Committee also arranges social events such as:

• American tournaments
• Barbeques
• Rambles
• Quiz nights
• Ten pin bowling
• Indoor winter tennis

Details of all social events are posted on the notice board in the club house and e-mailed to you if we have your address.
